MERN Stack Developer

Hi there! We are looking for a MERN Stack Developer to build features end to end on the Edverise marketplace. Edverise helps businesses find and compare verified technology vendors using verified reviews, delivery history and transparent rankings instead of ad spend. In this role you will own features from the database schema all the way to the screen a buyer clicks on, and you will see your work used by real businesses making real decisions.

About the team

You will be part of our engineering team in Bhubaneswar, working day to day with fellow developers, designers and the people who shape our product. We like small, well-scoped pieces of work, code reviews where everyone learns something, and talking things through openly when a problem gets tricky.

What you will work on

• Build and improve marketplace pages such as vendor profiles, comparison views and review flows using React and Node.js.
• Design MongoDB collections and write Express APIs that are fast, secure and easy for others to use.
• Turn designs into responsive, accessible interfaces that work well on phones and laptops.
• Write tests and review teammates' pull requests so the codebase stays healthy.
• Track down bugs and performance issues using logs and real user feedback.
• Work with our SEO and content folks to keep pages fast and search friendly.

What we are looking for

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience building web apps with MongoDB, Express.js, React and Node.js.
• Comfort with JavaScript and TypeScript, and a good understanding of REST API design.
• Experience with Git, pull requests and code reviews.
• Some exposure to deploying apps on a cloud platform such as AWS.
• Clear written communication and a habit of asking questions early.

What success looks like

In your first 3 months, you have shipped your first features to production, you know your way around our codebase, and you are reviewing pull requests with confidence.

By 6 months, you own a part of the marketplace end to end, you have improved the speed or reliability of at least one key flow, and teammates come to you for help on the MERN stack.

How we work

This is a full-time role based at our office on the 11th floor of O-Hub in Infocity, Bhubaneswar. We will walk you through working hours and the team's weekly routine during the interview process.

Day to day you will use GitHub, React, Node.js and MongoDB. We keep things simple: clear goals, honest feedback, and plenty of room to ask questions and learn. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
