Machine Learning Engineer

Hello! We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to build the models behind Edverise's vendor rankings and recommendations. Edverise helps businesses find and compare verified technology vendors using verified reviews, delivery history and transparent rankings instead of ad spend. Rankings on Edverise are earned, not bought, so the models you build need to be accurate, fair and easy to explain. That is a fun and meaningful problem to own.

About the team

You will work with our AI engineers, backend developers and the folks who verify reviews and vendor data. You will often explain model behaviour to non-technical teammates, so we value people who enjoy making complex things simple.

What you will work on

• Build ranking models that score vendors using verified reviews, delivery history and other quality signals.
• Create recommendation models that suggest relevant vendors to each buyer.
• Engineer features from marketplace data and keep training data clean and well documented.
• Detect unusual patterns, such as suspicious reviews, that could affect ranking fairness.
• Deploy models to production, monitor them and retrain them as data changes.
• Make rankings explainable so buyers and vendors understand why results appear in a given order.

What we are looking for

• 3-5 years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Strong Python and experience with PyTorch or scikit-learn.
• Hands-on work with ranking, search or recommendation systems.
• Good SQL and experience with feature pipelines and model monitoring.
• A thoughtful approach to fairness, explainability and measuring real impact.

What success looks like

In your first 3 months, you understand our ranking signals end to end, you have shipped a first model improvement, and you have set up basic model monitoring.

By 6 months, you own the ranking model, you can show measurable gains in relevance, and buyers and vendors can see clear reasons behind their rankings.

How we work

This is a full-time role based at our office on the 11th floor of O-Hub in Infocity, Bhubaneswar. We will walk you through working hours and the team's weekly routine during the interview process.

Day to day you will use GitHub, Python, PyTorch and Docker. We keep things simple: clear goals, honest feedback, and plenty of room to ask questions and learn. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
