750M+ Media Reach from a Single Press Release
Buildroid AI, a technology startup based in the US, is innovating construction sites with robotics and AI. With $2M in pre-seed funding from Tim Draper, an early investor in notable companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Skype, and Robinhood, the startup is now extending its operations to the UAE, where it has launched a pilot for its autonomous block-laying robot.
**Challenge:** The company needed public relations support for its upcoming launch at the Big 5 Construction Conference and aimed to achieve wide media exposure throughout the MENA region. However, the deeptech sector poses unique challenges for pitching due to its specialized terminology and the general lack of mainstream awareness, which complicates efforts to secure media coverage.
**Solution:** To tackle this issue, we crafted a straightforward press release paired with a compelling and easily digestible pitch. We simplified the complex robotics concepts into relatable, investment-focused language aimed at business and tech media in the MENA region. By explaining intricate technology in a way even a child could understand, we effectively conveyed the story. This approach resonated well with media outlets such as Inc. Arabia, Al-Monitor, Enterprise MEA, and Unite.AI, leading to several exclusive interviews with the company’s founders.
**Results:** The campaign achieved an impressive cumulative media reach of over 750 million from a single press release and secured more than 40 media placements within a week, including features in NABD, Zawya, Wamda, Arabian Business, Focus HiDubai, and others. The exclusive interviews with Inc. Arabia, Al-Monitor, Enterprise MEA, and Unite.AI significantly enhanced Buildroid AI's visibility in the MENA market, bolstering its credibility during its regional expansion. Additionally, the PR efforts sparked investor interest, paving the way for discussions regarding the next funding round.
