Originator Studios

Based in East Austin, we are a video production and virtual reality development company that features our own soundstage, accessible to the public. Our team consists of dynamic producers, directors, developers, and crew members who combine creativity with technical expertise. As storytellers, we are eager to embrace innovative technologies that enhance audience engagement with narratives. We tailor our services and team size to align with your objectives, budgets, timelines, target demographics, product features, and brand identity. Our studio offers an 800 square foot soundstage with a two-wall cyc that shifts between white and green backgrounds, depending on previous projects. The walls are pre-lit with six Kino Flo lights mounted on an adjustable grid for easy access. We have hosted a variety of productions here, including short and feature-length films, music videos, and corporate interviews. In 2016, Derek Gildersleeve and Willie Rockefeller took over the studio and have since focused on finding new opportunities to engage the community in film, photography, and virtual reality.
