Car Rental Solution

SIXT

A solution for booking transfers, taxis, or car rentals in the United States required the customer to develop a testing architecture from the ground up and implement tests at all levels of the application. The Car Rental Solution is a regional platform available through both a web service and a mobile app, adhering to the global brand standards of the franchise. Currently, the system supports car rentals and other passenger transportation options, driver transfers, fleet management, leasing, and car-sharing services. The team at ZappleTech constructed an automated testing architecture from scratch, achieving test coverage of over 95% for the solution. They systematically implemented a range of functional and non-functional automated test cases, addressing all components from the server-side to the mobile infrastructure. Additionally, due to the API chain in the Car Rental Solution, potential vulnerabilities can now be detected at a lower level. The automated test suites developed included CI/CD integration, functioning both locally and in the cloud, with individual test processing times of up to 2 minutes. Overall, a testing framework for the 3-tier architecture was established, encompassing a suite of automated API, web, and mobile tests, along with manual tests for comprehensive end-to-end Agile testing.

A cloud-based platform designed for online educational institutions that assists in managing learning processes, scheduling, and communication among administration, educators, and students was in need of comprehensive testing for all system modules. This was aimed at streamlining resource allocation for such tasks in the future. Established in 1998, this adaptable school management platform offers both offline and online learning solutions throughout Australia and New Zealand. It is one of two offerings from a vendor of online educational systems that has been operating since 2010. Over the years, the platform has evolved and expanded to enhance flexibility for both clients and users. Currently, it is fully embedded in school infrastructures, as evidenced by its ISO 2700 certification. ZappleTech experts created and successfully implemented an automated testing solution that encompasses all platform modules, including distinct user environments. We developed API-level tests to quickly detect potential issues in future iterations of the platform. The project employed Codeception, Webdriver, and standard PHP to address these challenges. Solutions included developing and integrating tests in Jenkins CI, creating frameworks, and performing smoke tests for user UAT inputs. As a result, we delivered comprehensive automated testing from the ground up and attained a successful CI build status.

A solution for automating the collection, storage, and processing of patient data in medical institutions was developed. Utilizing Agile methodologies, the client required a comprehensive automation system to test a cross-platform web application from the ground up to streamline future product interactions. The professionals at ZappleTech successfully crafted and implemented an extensive suite of 2,000 automated testing cases, with 700 designed specifically for this solution. These tests encompassed all manual processes and achieved optimal query execution times of just one minute. We designed API test chains to conduct initial assessments aimed at uncovering potential failures and defects at a foundational level. Consequently, over 100 critical system errors were detected and resolved. We also established an additional testing layer to identify future vulnerabilities through API testing. Our approach included creating a robust testing architecture, integrating the necessary tests into GitLab CI, and ensuring cross-platform testing capabilities. In summary, we developed a complete automated testing framework from the ground up, enabling early error and defect detection while maintaining communication with the development team for prompt bug resolution.
