About the Team
OUR STORY
The roots of WITS date back to 1947 when Phil Erickson joined forces with Dick Van Dyke, a local DJ at the time, to create the "Merry Mutes," a traveling comedy act. Throughout the early 1950s, this dynamic duo gained recognition in Atlanta, Georgia, delivering unique skits and musical performances on a live NBC television show. Their early collaboration and creative endeavors laid the foundational spirit that would come to define WITS.
