World Mining Congress 2023 — Branding
CSIRO / World Mining Congress
**Background** The World Mining Congress was established in 1958 and is associated with the United Nations. Its purpose is to encourage global scientific and technological collaboration and information sharing in mining science, safety, and environmental stewardship. The 26th Congress will occur in Brisbane in 2023, with the main theme being “Resourcing Tomorrow: Creating Value for Society.” CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research organizations globally, will host the event. **What We Did** Numerous mining conferences occur annually, with some tailored to specific interest groups and others more general in nature. WMC 2023 is a broader event focused on the future of global mining and resources amid challenging circumstances. We collaborated with CSIRO and the WMC 2023 Chair to develop a suitable identity for the conference that aligns with its core themes. Brand identity guidelines were crafted and implemented across various marketing materials. **Outcome** Willmore Design developed a distinct and memorable visual identity for the 2023 World Mining Congress. Their creative and innovative approach demonstrated a thorough understanding of our objectives. The branding encapsulated the mining industry's essence and reflected WMC’s principles of technology, collaboration, and innovation. The designs covered brochures, flyers, digital campaigns, and large-scale signage. They provided professional and responsive service, delivering solutions that aligned with the event’s objectives. **Stephen O'Dowd** Business Development Director, CSIRO Science Connect **SERVICES PROVIDED** Brand strategy, brand identity, graphic design, print design.
