SAJ Media LLC

SAJ Media is a digital publishing brand located in Wilmington, NC, responsible for several publications, including the Greater Wilmington Business Journal, WILMA Magazine, Fayetteville Business Journal, and Good Life Wilmington. To effectively manage their numerous publications, the SAJ Media team sought a unified digital solution to optimize their operations and ensure consistency in processes related to customer subscriptions, ad management, and content publishing. They required a custom application to oversee all their online publications. Using a Laravel framework, AWS hosting, and Amazon S3 for file storage, we developed an integrated dashboard with a wide range of features. Key functionalities important to SAJ Media included ad placement, sponsored content, and the software's display of such ads on their website. Additionally, custom email templates designed to feature tailored ads according to subscription tiers were prioritized. The bespoke web application, named JumpPub, was developed by Wide Open Tech and is fully integrated with Stripe for handling recurring subscription payments. Subscribers can access their accounts to manage their subscriptions, while admin users on the backend can create ad campaigns, determine ad placement within the publication, publish both sponsored and non-sponsored content, and manage users, emails, and business directories.

Ramey Kemp Associates (RKA) is an employee-owned company dedicated to delivering a transportation consulting service that goes beyond client expectations. Their expertise spans areas such as traffic engineering, traffic signal design and timing, traffic control and pavement markings, traffic studies, data collection, project development, roadway and drainage design, transit and bus stop design, sidewalk and bicycle facility design, innovative intersection design like roundabouts, and environmental assessments. RKA sought the assistance of Wide Open Tech to completely revamp their website. Initially, they created the site using a basic WordPress theme and builder, but this limited functionality hindered their potential for growth. RKA desired a comprehensive website featuring advanced filtering options and a user-friendly backend. It was also crucial for them to have a site that could be easily updated to accommodate future needs. Our team collaborated closely with RKA to craft entirely custom web designs that reflected their new branding. We devised an effective content organization strategy and implemented on-site SEO practices. Our custom WordPress development team built the website from the ground up, utilizing advanced backend section blocks that facilitate easy content editing without compromising the front-end design. We also developed a sophisticated filtering tool to help users find the most relevant projects.

Bearman CPA's objective is to help nonprofit organizations, regardless of their size or financial status, to utilize the same financial strategies and best practices as the top nonprofits in the country. As a small business, Bearman CPA approached us for a complete redesign of their website and to implement SEO best practices so they could rank locally for their specialized accounting services. They also wanted the site's backend to be easy to use for future updates. The biggest challenge for Bearman CPA was that they had no online presence, having operated for nearly two decades without a website. Our team collaborated closely with Bearman CPA's marketing staff to design a modern and user-friendly website that reflected their brand's mission and personality. We conducted a comprehensive competitive and SEO analysis to identify the best strategies for improving the site's Google ranking. During the website design process, we incorporated various onsite technical SEO elements, including optimizing title tags, implementing local keywords, creating meta descriptions, adding schema markup, and developing SEO-friendly FAQs, among other strategies. After the website launched, we set up Google Analytics to track traffic and created a Google Search Console account to monitor rankings. We also submitted the sitemap to Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
