A public manufacturing company sought assistance in transitioning a set of eight manual Excel reports to Power BI as part of its initiative to move away from spreadsheets for reporting. The client aimed to finish this migration within three months, while also automating the reports and enhancing the narrative of the data. We offered suggestions to the technical team regarding the automatic data feeds required for reporting. We also discovered that some reports shared data sources, enabling us to link two or more reports to the same data extract, which eliminated the need for multiple manual dataset refreshes. Throughout the project, over 100 Power BI pages were created. The most significant analyses included: 1. Assessing the backlog of orders across all product groups and clients to pinpoint the most affected clients. 2. Identifying markets with year-over-year revenue growth to highlight regional growth opportunities. 3. Recognizing product groups and materials with the highest and lowest year-over-year growth. 4. Providing side-by-side comparisons of specific regions/product groups against the overall market. 5. This helps identify individuals who may be overworked or underworked, enabling you to balance workloads within the team.
