Our Journey Established in 2008 by Sasa Popovic and Vladan Ostojic, Vega IT originated from the ambitious vision of two former students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. Now, with a team of almost 900 professionals and over 17 years of achievements, the company has transformed into a leading force in custom software development and system integration, providing innovative solutions that transform industries and propel businesses ahead. Vega IT’s proficiency covers more than 15 sectors, including finance, insurance, healthcare, and retail.

Howden Group

**Business Challenge**: Howden, the leading European broker servicing clients globally, engages in various sectors beyond insurance, including log files, marketing, and market research. The client faced challenges due to a fragmented product offering, leading to elevated maintenance and upgrade costs, a high total cost of ownership (TCO), and inconsistent delivery timelines, causing slow market entry for new products. Additionally, launching each new line of business or product was associated with substantial development expenses. **Our Solution**: We developed a single, configurable, API-driven, low-code platform that can seamlessly adapt to all digitalized products. We ensured that configuration files are highly modular to support future scalability of the platform. By creating an API that automates versioning, we optimized product configuration and extension processes, eliminating the need for product specialists to manually organize configuration files. We also introduced test automation, facilitating the testing of large product volumes. **Results Achieved**: The new platform transformed technology from a hindrance into a significant enabler of business growth. We empowered Howden to launch new products merely by adding new configurations, reducing the time to market from several months to just a few days. The platform considerably lowers development costs by utilizing existing workflows for similar products, minimizing the effort and resources needed for new product development. Rethink project | Hyperion-X

Hyperion-X Group

Rethink, a digital platform within the Howden group, connects insurance companies and brokers but struggled with lengthy data entry and complicated processes, hindering brokers from quickly generating policies. The objective was to upgrade the platform to enhance speed, efficiency, and user experience, enabling brokers to better serve their clients. Our approach involved simplifying and automating the Rethink platform to speed up policy generation. We began by updating the existing codebase to improve code quality, allowing for quicker feature additions without sacrificing stability. A crucial element of our solution was implementing low-touch, automated underwriting, which greatly minimized manual work. We also improved system performance by automating smoke tests, cutting execution time by almost 50%. Furthermore, we replaced custom components with Salesforce components, eliminating unnecessary code and boosting system stability. As a result of these enhancements, Rethink’s platform became significantly more efficient and scalable. By streamlining the user interface and optimizing the database, we enhanced the application’s response time, enabling brokers to generate policies more quickly. The system now provides nearly instantaneous responses, enhancing overall performance and reliability. UniCredit Bank Serbia: A new digital tool

UniCredit Bank Serbia

In collaboration with UniCredit Bank Serbia, we developed a new digital application from the ground up, replacing manual processes with a secure, organized, and transparent operational framework. The challenge was to address the increasing demand for a unified source of truth for intricate operational workflows. Prior to this initiative, UniCredit Bank Serbia depended on manual data management using spreadsheets and multiple communication channels. This arrangement hindered visibility, delayed decision-making, and made it difficult to maintain a dependable source of truth in processes that require accuracy and accountability. They recognized a clear chance to enhance these workflows by implementing a digital solution that centralizes all activities, improves coordination with external partners, and offers secure, traceable access to data. Our solution involved creating a cohesive digital foundation that enhances clarity, compliance, and collaboration. Working alongside the UniCredit Bank Serbia team, we designed a completely new digital application aimed at introducing clarity, organization, and predictability to workflows that were previously managed manually. The objective was not just to digitize existing processes, but to establish a framework that ensures consistent, traceable, and secure operations for all teams involved. The outcome has been operational clarity that scales with the bank's requirements. The new digital application provides UniCredit Bank with a single, trustworthy perspective on all operational and legal activities. By transitioning away from spreadsheets and disjointed communication, the bank now operates within a structured model that enhances visibility, reinforces consistency, and facilitates clearer decision-making. The UniCredit Bank team expressed high levels of satisfaction with the final solution and the collaborative nature of the project, emphasizing the clarity, organization, and long-term benefits that the new application adds to their daily operations.
