City of Burbank Website Redesign

City of Burbank

The Problem The City of Burbank's website was a chaotic jumble. Not only did it have an outdated design, but it was also difficult to navigate. Users faced a significant amount of text and numerous links, requiring multiple clicks to locate information. During a global pandemic, addressing these issues became crucial. What We Did After assessing the needs of the city's various users and the local government, we completely redesigned the site and its content structure to create a fresh and modern user experience. The updated website is now adaptable for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices and meets both federal and local accessibility requirements. It also features new branding that was recently developed for the City of Burbank. Additionally, we outlined the necessary features for the content management system (CMS) and led the strategy for content migration to the new site. Results Users expressed their appreciation for the site's transformation. Its streamlined design allows users to easily find information quickly, and Burbank now has a website that aligns with its reputation as the media capital of the world.

Employee Engagement Platform

The Challenge Latch is a video-based engagement platform that brings organizations together to foster aligned and inspired action by encouraging meaningful conversations between managers and employees through videos, surveys, and opportunities for feedback and engagement. Although the product was already benefiting its users, stakeholders identified the necessity for a complete redesign to tackle longstanding usability issues and technical problems. The platform was challenging to navigate, unstable, and lacked scalability. What We Did Our objective was to transform Latch into a top-tier engagement and communication tool with a contemporary and personalized touch. We began with a Product Scoping Workshop and an extensive Discovery phase to thoroughly explore the product's strengths and areas needing improvement from a UX standpoint, while also developing a project roadmap. Subsequently, we designed wireframes and high-fidelity layouts that addressed the identified challenges, which were then confirmed through usability testing. Results This comprehensive upgrade has allowed Latch to provide employers with insights from employees that enhance both performance and job satisfaction within their clients’ organizations. The tool is now user-friendly, engaging, and scalable.

Education Platform for Teachers and Educators

Global education technology company

The Challenge Initially, the purpose of this platform for educators was simply to offer a digital space for individual teachers to collect educational resources. However, the client envisioned something more. Recognizing that teachers do not work in isolation, they aimed to create a platform that would facilitate collaboration among teachers and school administrators. What We Did UXDC was tasked with defining and designing a comprehensive set of features to meet these requirements and significantly enhance the product's functionality. We guided the project through the UX design process, from initial discovery to design and usability testing, resulting in a refreshed and fully developed platform. Results As a result, the new platform design promotes effortless collaboration and sharing between teachers and administrators, enabling users to easily create and exchange course curricula along with unique lesson plans and tools for customization and curation.
