Report writing and service delivery toolkit

Unknown

Client: Social Impact Consultancy, Focus Business Building Situation: The CEO of a social impact consultancy sought assistance in replicating the presentation style and PowerPoint charts of McKinsey to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of her company’s presentations. With plans to expand a specific service line, the timing was ideal to improve client deliverables and standardize processes. The project was divided into two phases: **Phase 1 Approach:** - Initiated with an evaluation of existing reports, revealing that they lacked structure and a coherent narrative to guide audiences through the concepts. A common issue with PowerPoint presentations is that creators often spend excessive time on individual slides instead of prioritizing the overarching messages. - Proposed a writing framework and revised sample reports to align with best practices in writing strategy, structure, style, and layout design. **Phase 2 Approach:** - Collaborated closely with the CEO to establish and document the service delivery process, outlining tasks and deliverables for each stage. - Developed a practitioner toolkit containing guidelines, examples, and templates to facilitate quicker and consistently high-quality service delivery and report writing. - Guided the creation of a branded PowerPoint template for client reporting. **Outcome:** The Service Delivery Toolkit, equipped with guidelines, best-practice examples, and templates, allowed the client to swiftly onboard new employees and scale service delivery while maintaining consistency and efficiency in execution.

Client Boutique Consultancy Focus Business Building Situation: The CEO of a boutique consultancy faced disappointment after losing a contract despite dedicating significant time to prepare the proposal. She aimed to enhance the company's competitiveness for future bids by developing a library of pre-prepared content that would enable them to customize their value proposition efficiently for RFPs and pitches. Approach: - Established the library’s purpose, organization, and content categories, such as Company Overview, Our Services, Work Processes, Unique Selling Points, as well as client information, case studies, and testimonials. - Collected the most effective and recent pages from previous proposals and presentations to populate the library, creating new content where necessary. - Designed sample page layouts and content combinations to minimize design choices and expedite the creation of new pages. - Clarified and refined the company's value proposition and produced standardized copy for easy insertion into proposals. - Developed example proposals and presentations to demonstrate how to customize documents in accordance with specific proposal criteria and limitations, like page constraints. - Created a straightforward Excel-based client project database for consultants to input their project details, making it quick and easy to update proposal data. Outcome: The credentials and proposal library serves as a centralized resource of essential information and pre-designed pages for bids, proposals, and presentations. This library accelerates the proposal creation process, enhances quality, and ensures aligned messaging.
