The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario serves as the regulatory body for the registration and oversight of occupational therapists (OTs) in the province. By ensuring that their members are qualified, capable, and uphold ethical standards, the College protects the interests of the public. We developed a new, user-friendly website for COTO aimed at helping their varied audiences access relevant resources. We also made sure the site is easy for COTO’s staff to manage and can grow with their needs. Acting as a valuable information hub, COTO provides a wealth of content and resources for OTs, employers, and the general public. Whether they are patients seeking treatment, new graduates registering for the first time, or experienced OTs and employers, users will frequently return to the site. As regulations change and new educational materials are introduced, COTO will continue to expand their content to keep OTs and the public informed. Their centralized resource center will become increasingly vital. With their new WordPress platform, COTO will find it much simpler to update and add content as they enhance their online presence. Acera Insurance was established through the merger of 15 Canadian insurance firms, resulting in one of the largest independent brokerages in the country. Aiming to make insurance more accessible, Acera's motto, "Be certain," emphasizes a customer-centered brand experience. **Challenges:** Merging 15 existing websites into a single, user-friendly platform presented considerable SEO, content, and structural issues. The Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) advocates for interactive science experiences throughout Canada. To enhance connections among members and advance initiatives related to STEM, equity, and inclusion within Canadian communities, CASC sought a new, user-friendly platform. Our goal was to develop a vibrant, easy-to-navigate website that would fortify CASC's online presence, assist its members, and align with its mission to foster science engagement through accessible resources and experiences. We created a bilingual WordPress site designed with a mobile-first approach to facilitate navigation and user engagement. The site includes features such as an interactive member directory and a searchable map to help users connect with science centres across the country. With simplified navigation and a clean design, visitors can effortlessly discover CASC events, programs, and resources. Our content strategy emphasized readability, search engine optimization (SEO), and compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.
