Creative Branding for an Artist Website
Sharon Dowell is a muralist, consultant, and creative placemaker whose work encompasses galleries, city blocks, and community environments. However, her previous website did not represent her full scope. While it showcased her artwork, it fell short in highlighting her consulting services, workshop facilitation, and contributions to public art initiatives. TMG was engaged to redesign the site and enhance the artist’s online presence—creating a space as vibrant and diverse as Sharon herself. We began by updating her visual identity with a new logo and a striking, well-balanced color scheme inspired by her artwork. Following that, we rebuilt the website with user experience as a priority, merging playfulness with professionalism. Features like canvas-like hover effects, animated milestones, and embedded videos brought her narrative to life. A key highlight: colorful carousels that emphasize partnerships and achievements without overshadowing her portfolio. Importantly, we brought Sharon’s consulting services to the forefront, making it easy for cities, developers, and community leaders to recognize her expertise beyond just her art. Strategic SEO enhancements and a carefully structured content layout supported this transition, aligning her site with the appropriate audience and opportunities. Now, her website not only showcases her achievements but also embodies her identity as an artist with vision, voice, and purpose. It serves as a platform that promotes both her artwork and her mission to connect, collaborate, and lead in the realm of public art.
