UX Content Strategy for Autodesk Education
Tendo streamlined a complicated sign-up process to create a positive and meaningful content experience for Autodesk Education users.
**About Autodesk**
Autodesk develops design software for the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors. Tools like AutoCAD and Revit assist creators in designing and constructing everything from vehicles to skyscrapers. Its top-tier software is available to students and educators in design, architecture, and engineering fields, accessible through the Autodesk Education program and its dedicated website, managed by the Autodesk Education team.
**The Challenge**
Previously, Autodesk did not require verification for educational users, which allowed anyone to access free resources. To enhance the program, Autodesk Education sought to implement a verification system to confirm legitimate educational users. Sign-up forms can create significant friction, particularly when the process involves multiple steps. The new procedure needed to be straightforward, maintain brand experience, introduce additional steps, and highlight the advantages of educational access.
**The Approach**
Tendo performed an in-depth evaluation of the user experience (UX) content related to the sign-up and verification process. We created various options for program names, messaging, and essential terminology. Subsequently, we refined and improved the UX copy, including banners, form text, success notifications, and transactional emails. During our review, we pinpointed critical gaps and inconsistencies, as well as opportunities for Autodesk to reinforce the benefits of educational membership to users.
**The Result**
The final UX copy and user journey are now clear, coherent, and purposeful in tone and messaging. The new, unified content experience not only alleviates the difficulties of adapting to a complicated system but also reinforces Autodesk’s status as a reliable academic partner, fostering brand loyalty that persists after students graduate and as they embark on their careers.
