The foundation of teclan stems from the union of two distinct businesses. In 1997, Drew Hendry aimed to capitalize on the dotcom boom by starting an online venture to sell Scottish clothing, particularly tartan, to expatriates worldwide. Originally named ‘Clan Clothing,’ Drew faced the challenge of launching an online store before services like PayPal and Google were available. After facing numerous obstacles, he discovered a fledgling eCommerce company that enabled him to successfully establish his online store. This experience revealed a market need for others aspiring to sell their products internationally, leading to the creation of a new business: te / c / lan. By merging his technical expertise with Clan Clothing, a new chapter began. As the client base grew, so did the team, with Fergus Weir joining in 2004, contributing his programming skills, which allowed teclan to create even more advanced tools and solutions. He became the Managing Director in 2010. Today, teclan boasts a strong team of marketing, design, and technology professionals, delivering outstanding results for over 1,700 diverse clients across the globe.
