Agriculture & Commodities Branding: Aboitiz Foods
Pilmico Foods is the agribusiness subsidiary of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, encompassing activities such as farming, feed production, flour milling, and trading. Aboitiz Equity Ventures recognized the potential to establish a divisional brand for its agribusinesses as it expanded geographically and in capabilities. The aim of this branding initiative is to effectively manage, integrate, and align all associated companies, brands, and products under a cohesive ‘Food Group’ umbrella brand. Tangible eagerly engaged in this branding venture, which included auditing existing brands, gathering market insights, and formulating a clear brand strategy. This strategy encompassed defining the divisional brand's name, purpose, and values, alongside a robust brand architecture and communications framework. The name chosen for the Divisional Brand was ‘AboitizFoods’. Its logo and visual identity resonated with a thoughtful, measured demeanor, symbolized by an infinity sign integrated within the wordmark. This deliberate personality influenced all aspects of the branding, from the visual of ‘grains of wheat’ to the tone and templates used for communication. The brand's purpose also served as its tagline: ‘Together We Nourish the Future’. Tangible provided a comprehensive solution for the website, overseeing both design and development, and subsequently offered guidelines for the brand. The AboitizFoods brand values—‘Integration’, ‘Expertise’, and ‘Foresight’—were pivotal in shaping the internal culture. Tangible explored various Brand Architecture scenarios, which ranged from straightforward upstream and downstream models to more segmented business lines, all while considering future growth opportunities and packaging information hierarchy. The final model accommodated the expansion of downstream markets, such as Pet Food and Farms. Tangible also recommended how to classify product ranges, streamline product branding based on recognition, and establish a hierarchy of information for packaging.
