The Stanford Medicine app is a new patient care tool that aids in preparing for surgical operations. It is designed to enhance patient understanding and facilitate information sharing, while also alleviating anxiety and serving as a continual resource outside of standard office hours. As a premier institution for medical innovation, Stanford Medicine collaborated with designers from Swenson He, who worked alongside doctors and potential patients to develop a sequence of task cards. These cards guide patients through each phase of their treatment, enabling them to monitor their progress and stay informed about upcoming milestones and procedures. Despite navigating the complex regulations of the medical industry, the team successfully created a user-friendly interface. The final product, the Stanford Medicine app, acts as a supportive resource during recovery, offering significant time savings for healthcare providers and essential preparation and procedural details for patients.
