A set of infographics for brand outreach campaign
HSBC faced the task of creating an outstanding infographic to showcase their latest research on different types of credit cards. With the vast array of credit card options available, customers often find it challenging to determine which one suits their needs best. HSBC had identified seven key credit card categories, each designed for specific user requirements. They sought four infographics that maintained a coherent concept, tone, and design targeting individuals aged 25 to 45 across diverse social classes, genders, and cultures. Creatively, the infographics needed to present information in an engaging and unique manner. Practically, the client required the data to be clear, useful, and easily readable across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) while also being simple to share on third-party sites and social media. The primary objective was to inform and assist, rather than to sell, with an emphasis on fostering trust and long-term brand loyalty.
To address this, we created a straightforward yet visually impactful guide that clarifies how credit cards function and explains different financial terms, while also offering advice on financing a car or planning a wedding. Infographics can quickly convey messages and make complex topics easily digestible, thus capturing immediate interest and potential for virality. We designed a flexible, modular grid format for the infographics, allowing them to be displayed together or individually, ensuring their relevance in the future. Illustrator Peter Grundy, known for his expertise in information design, was brought on board to craft a striking visual style that accommodates varying types and lengths of information while incorporating the HSBC logo in a subtle yet recognizable way.
