7-month, 7-figure Shopify SEO Case Study
Our approach was straightforward. We focused on products that the business could easily supply and that typically had low return rates. Next, we researched high-volume, low-difficulty keywords related to the products the client aimed to sell. Each month, we conducted research, wrote, edited, published, and distributed a new set of content. Over time, we began to see exponential growth. What initially started as a small influx of visitors to our new content evolved into a massive surge in traffic. We successfully struck a balance between traffic and intent. The increased visitors not only boosted website sessions but also significantly raised revenue from organic traffic. At the beginning of last year, when we first collaborated with them, the client was spending almost $20,000 on paid ads to obtain 24,000 website visits, generating $77,700 in revenue from 491 orders. For simplicity, let's assume each product’s wholesale cost is $100, leaving the client with approximately $10,000 in profit at the end of May. Fast forward six months to November, and our client’s website saw 21,000 sessions, while their ad spend dropped to $10,000. Their sales of $78,000 were nearly the same as in May, but it only required 215 orders to achieve that. Fewer orders resulted in reduced customer support requests, fewer returns, and less stress for the client. The average order value rose from $153 in May to $212 in November. Assuming all fulfilled orders had a $100 wholesale cost, this translates to an estimated monthly profit of around $46,000 in November. In 2020, the average eCommerce multiple was 30 times monthly profit, suggesting that when we started working together, the client’s business was valued at around $300,000 in May. Six months later, its value had soared to approximately $1.3 million—a remarkable 360% increase in just half a year!
