The insurance experts at Integrity Billing have long been helping clients navigate this intricate procedure via phone and email, but they believed there had to be a way to enhance and expedite the workflow using software—they just lacked the technical know-how to implement it. As a part of their approach, we conducted an on-site workshop using a whiteboard to discuss and analyze personas, workflows, and processes, which helped us better understand how software could effectively support this specialized service. Our UX Strategists closely watched users complete forms, gathering crucial insights that allowed us to refine the proposed designs. The result was the development of a web-based application that utilizes multiple data sources to deliver quick results and real-time updates. The platform consists of two tiers: one offers immediate, albeit limited, information through several integrated third-party APIs (named InstantVOB), and the other provides more comprehensive and detailed information via insurance specialists. **The Need** Although Alaris had an internal development team, it was necessary for them to outsource the creation of certain advanced features to better serve their customers. The most urgent requirement was an online appointment booking system for their childcare programs at the club. Additionally, their current app was only available on Android, which restricted their audience to just Android users. **The Approach** Our team conducted a Needs Analysis to evaluate their existing tools and capabilities in comparison to those of a better tool or a custom solution. We also presented our recommended custom cloud-based software solution along with a roadmap for its implementation. During the Strategize phase, several key focus areas were identified. **The Solution** We decided on a two-part strategy to effectively meet their needs. In the short term, we quickly enhanced customer value by developing customized features on top of a more powerful third-party tool. At the same time, we started the development of a fully custom, cloud-based system that would fulfill all their needs and offer long-term support. A portal for health club staff was established to manage and modify customer reservations. We created a Proof of Concept (POC) for this global sportswear brand to demonstrate that an enterprise application could integrate with their existing workflows and systems. **The Requirement** The sportswear brand aimed to convert their current web-based B2B tool—a catalog used by retailers and their sales representatives to showcase new collections, manage inventory orders, and plan stock levels—into a mobile application. However, the business development team had concerns regarding the app's relevance, integration capabilities, and security features. To address these issues and validate the feasibility of a mobile solution, a POC was necessary. **The Strategy** We held a workshop that brought together executive leaders and sales staff to foster communication between departments that typically do not interact. This allowed us to challenge assumptions about the strategic and business needs for the POC software. We outlined their sales process, identified gaps, and determined where an app could be most beneficial for their operations. A significant finding was that existing retailers needed a straightforward way to reorder inventory. **The Outcome** We developed a native iOS app prototype for the POC to showcase its potential to stakeholders. This confirmed that an app-based solution could be effectively implemented, filling the identified gaps and integrating seamlessly with their current system.
