I am the director of product development for a recreational boating marketplace. We list boats for sale and connect sellers with prospective buyers. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE** What issue were you addressing with SINAPTIA? We needed assistance with web development. **SOLUTION** What was the extent of their involvement? We collaborate with SINAPTIA’s development team to build the product using Ruby on Rails and adopt a Scrum methodology for sprints and deadlines. Additionally, SINAPTIA suggested a web design firm for the site redesign and participated in vendor selection. **Team Composition** Our team includes three full stack developers, a backend developer, a QA specialist, and a product manager. Fernando (Co-Founder & Lead Developer) supervises the entire project. **How did you start working with SINAPTIA?** Someone from within the company knew a contact at SINAPTIA. **Investment Amount** We invest approximately $25,000 monthly. **Current Status** We've been engaged with them since December 2022, and the collaboration is ongoing with plans for at least the medium term. The long-term future is uncertain and depends on our startup's performance. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK** What can you share as evidence of the engagement's impact? Overall, the development quality is exceptional. We set specific productivity goals, termed “story points,” and focused on site performance; for example, our loading speed has significantly decreased to 1.46 seconds. **Project Management Performance** Project management has been exemplary. Fernando and the team are incredibly professional and dependable, consistently meeting deadlines. We have daily half-hour meetings via Google Meet, maintaining fluid communication, especially given our locations in Spain and Argentina, using the same language. Our main communication tools are Slack and Jira. **Team Acknowledgement** I would like to acknowledge Fernando, the owner and senior developer with extensive experience, who frequently assists in finding technical solutions. **Most Impressive Aspect** Their adaptability stands out; they adjust well to new challenges. For example, while we initially wanted to use a Solr system for a key feature, we decided to switch to Elasticsearch, which they had never used but quickly researched and implemented effectively. **Areas for Improvement** Although SINAPTIA has extensive development experience, there’s always room for growth.
