In the spring of 2022, we began collaborating with Germany's largest telecommunications client. Their team comprised eight members, including backend and frontend developers, a scrum master, testers, and a product owner. They were responsible for maintaining a legacy work order processing system for all of Germany, as well as developing new services in alignment with global telecommunications standards (TMF). Our objective was to replace all departing Java developers within a month and to complete the development of the new TMF services. Additionally, we aimed to create new highly scalable and crucial services that would integrate with external solutions through Kafka events and REST APIs. Ultimately, the existing applications have become more stable, with fewer production bugs, while the new services have been developed following best practices and some have already been deployed to production.

In the summer of 2022, we began collaborating with a medium-sized client in the energy sector based in Luxembourg. Initially, the client had a team of three Java developers focused on creating their internal applications. Over the following months, our three developers seamlessly integrated into the client's existing team, working both remotely and on-site. Their contributions included: - Delivering several critical features for the production environment - Enhancing Agile practices using Scrum methodology - Implementing git branching - Setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) - Refactoring substantial portions of code - Expanding test coverage - Establishing test writing as a routine practice - Reducing reliance on tightly coupled components - Planning improvements to the current monolithic architecture - Proposing and presenting the adoption of Kubernetes and a microservices architecture As a result, the applications have become more stable, with fewer production issues. New services are developed with best practices in mind, and we are progressing towards modern, cloud-native solutions that are easy to deploy, independent, highly available, and scalable. Looking ahead, our plans include: - Complete migration to a microservices architecture - Full deployment of cloud-native applications on Kubernetes - Enhancement of the codebase and test coverage to minimize production issues to the greatest extent possible.
