T. Volk & Co.

The Shields SGF team collaborated with Tim Volk to develop a fresh website showcasing his consulting practice. This advisory firm aims to support families in thriving and is built around the concept of the five capitals of family life. Their offerings include tailored services for clients encompassing interviews and assessments, governance, family committees and councils, stewardship, ownership, and inheritance. Additionally, they provide advisors with services such as strategic planning, branding and marketing, revenue enhancement, client experience improvement, and succession planning.

Beth Israel Lahey Health

**Project Overview** The team at BID Needham, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, sought assistance from Shields SGF for a new initiative aimed at reaching out to patients in their Emergency Department who qualified for the MindLAMP program. Developed in collaboration with the Division of Digital Psychiatry at BIDMC, MindLAMP is an eight-week program designed to connect patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions to a complimentary cognitive behavioral therapy program. The initiative also provided access to mental health clinicians and was integrated into the care patients were receiving from their primary care providers (PCPs). **Solution** In addition to creating print materials for distribution in the Emergency Department, Shields SGF produced a 2.5-minute explainer video to introduce the program and describe the app. During the video production process, we assisted in script development, audio recording, storyboarding, and the animation of the final product. **Results** With both print and digital outreach materials prepared by SSGF, BID Needham effectively communicated with patients about the new program. The video clearly conveyed the process, eligibility, purpose, and benefits of the MindLAMP program to stakeholders, doctors, and patients. It was even presented at BILH’s 2023 gala, allowing team members throughout the organization to learn about MindLAMP’s achievements.

Raising Public Awareness with an Innovative Recycling Approach Project Overview With only 10% of the plastics produced each year being recycled, there is a pressing need for new solutions. The 10to90 initiative seeks to elevate the global recycling rate to 90% by utilizing advanced recycling techniques. Cyclyx, the parent company, enlisted Shields SGF to create a public-facing website that would encapsulate their brand identity as well as incorporate the new 10to90 logo. The goal of this site is to educate the public on their recycling options and serve as a crucial advocacy platform for future program expansions beyond the initial trial phase. Additionally, Cyclyx requested that Shields design a 10to90 app to assist users with the recycling drop-off process. Solution Shields crafted the 10to90 website to attract public attention with vibrant colors and engaging graphics, guiding users through essential program information. Key messages, such as "How to participate" and "Why you should participate," are consistently highlighted through a combination of text, graphics, charts, and images. The design aligns with Cyclyx's branding by utilizing coordinated shapes and colors, visually linking the two as primary and secondary brands. The 10to90 app extends this aesthetic, while also incorporating crucial features like locating nearby drop-off sites, scheduling drop-offs in advance, and tracking users' recycling history and progress. Results With the website and app finalized, 10to90 has launched the first trial of their Advanced Recycling program in Houston, TX, encouraging consumers to participate through their "Bag it & Bring it" initiative. The website effectively serves as a key resource for outlining the program's processes and requirements, while also promoting 10to90 to other communities that might participate in the future. Similarly, the 10to90 app simplifies the donation process and adds an element of enjoyment, allowing users to earn badges as they achieve recycling milestones, which encourages further engagement.
