Mastering Communication about the "Polish Deal"

**THE CHALLENGE** In 2021, the Polish government introduced the Polish Deal (Polski Ład), a significant tax reform. InFakt, a company that provides modern accounting solutions, required assistance in clarifying the intricate legal and tax elements of this reform for their audience. We collaborated with InFakt to tackle these challenges, which included ongoing modifications to the reform draft and the necessity for quick responses to government updates. **THE SOLUTION** Working alongside inFakt, we focused on effectively communicating the complexities of the Polish Deal. Piotr Juszczyk, the Chief Tax Advisor at inFakt, was designated as the media spokesperson. We set up an efficient process to swiftly gather information from Juszczyk, which we used to create press materials. Our strategy emphasized critical aspects of the reform that were not receiving adequate attention. We conducted a survey to collect feedback from entrepreneurs about the proposed regulations and their plans for implementation. The findings, revealed during an online press event, highlighted the main challenges faced by businesses, enabling us to align our communication with entrepreneurs' needs. Additionally, we hosted two Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions on wykop.pl, featuring Piotr Juszczyk and Włodek Markowicz, which gave entrepreneurs direct access to expert insights regarding the Polish Deal. **THE OUTCOME** Thanks to our support, inFakt emerged as a key voice in the media discourse surrounding the Polish Deal, aiding entrepreneurs in adjusting to the changes. From May 2021 to the end of 2022, we created 90 press materials and individual expert comments. Our media relations efforts resulted in nearly 1,800 publications by the close of 2022, featured in major outlets like RMF FM, Radio ZET, and Businessinsider.pl. Consequently, Piotr Juszczyk became a sought-after expert on accounting and tax issues for numerous media platforms.
