EveningStar.io is a cryptocurrency information aggregator that a group of friends and I created last year. It's been an enjoyable side project, featuring over 200 feeds that compile data from thousands of online news sources. Currently, we have around 3,000 registered users. Our goal was to create a comprehensive resource for all things cryptocurrency, offering news, real-time pricing, events, research articles, portfolio tracking, wallet monitoring, and additional features. Initially, my friends and I developed this platform for our own use but decided to make it public as cryptocurrency gained popularity. The site now operates on autopilot, with its integrated feeds and a significant 3,000+ user base, accumulating over a million pageviews since August 2017 without any advertising. This project has been a lot of fun, transforming a concept into a tangible product in just a few months, from designing the logo to completing the final product. It utilizes a completely custom WordPress backend and operates fully automated, apart from the featured news, which admins can highlight by favoriting notable stories. This project is purely a personal hobby for me.

The New Personality Self Portrait is a bestselling book celebrating its 25th anniversary. We developed an engaging online personality test that allows users to compare their traits with those of others who have taken the test. Our objective was to create an online version that not only calculates individual scores automatically but also generates related charts and documents. This project was particularly enjoyable due to its uniqueness and significance. Many people may recall taking a personality quiz at a doctor's office or in school, where they had to tally their scores and refer to a gauge after completing a tedious multiple-choice test. We aimed to improve on that experience by designing a user-friendly test that could be accessed anywhere and offered a fresh alternative to existing options. We ensured the test was quick, discreet, and allowed users to start and stop as they wished. For payments, we integrated Stripe and PayPal, enabling users to purchase multiple tests and allowing current participants to invite friends and family. After implementing the custom, mobile-responsive quiz, we created a straightforward backend where users can view their results, export PDFs, conduct research, and send invitations. Additionally, we set up abandoned cart emails offering discounts to encourage conversions.
