Club dVIN | NFT Wine Membership Club

Club dVIN

Background: Club dVIN is a global NFT wine club established in 2022, boasting around 400 members that include wine professionals, producers, collectors, and enthusiasts from across the globe. The club merges real-life culinary experiences with web3 technology, aiming to cultivate a community centered on investment-grade wines. To expand its reach to high-end wine collectors, Club dVIN collaborated with Protokol to utilize their technical expertise. Approach: Protokol implemented a phased strategy to create Club dVIN's decentralized application (dApp), starting with strategic planning to align with the club’s objectives. This was followed by the development and testing of the dApp. Built using web3 technologies, the dApp operates on the Ethereum Mainnet and Polygon blockchain, and features non-custodial wallets such as Metamask, Torus, and Wallet Connect, while also integrating traditional payment options via Stripe. Additionally, a customized NFT platform was created to manage various luxury wine tokens, which included membership NFTs for newcomers and digital bottle/cork tokens for a virtual cellar in the Club dVIN metaverse. Outcome: The dApp was launched in 2022, receiving an enthusiastic response from the community, with over 350 genesis tokens released at the outset. This platform allows Club dVIN members to earn tokens that confirm their activities and accomplishments within the global luxury wine sector. These tokens enrich the membership experience by offering both digital and physical aspects of wine collecting and sharing, marking a notable advancement in the incorporation of web3 technology into luxury wine collecting.

Logos | DAO Discovery Platform

**Background** The idea of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) has developed significantly, transitioning from gaming guilds to NFT art incubators, with a market valuation of $21 billion in January 2022. In light of the burgeoning DAO ecosystem, Logos aimed to create a directory for users to discover and join DAOs aligned with their interests. This initial concept evolved into a more extensive educational platform, positioning Logos as a key resource for DAO-related knowledge, where users could earn tokens through educational engagement. To achieve this, Logos partnered with Protokol, leveraging their substantial expertise in web3 to improve the platform’s user interface and ecosystem strategy. **Approach** The collaboration commenced with Protokol assessing the current Logos user interface. Insights gained from this assessment sparked a complete redesign, which began with thorough UX research, market analysis, and strategic discussions on brand identity. The result was a new front-end design and a technical plan for backend enhancements. Development focused on outlining new features, revamping the front-end using Next.js, and upgrading the backend with AWS services, such as Lambda for business logic, GraphQL and REST APIs for data integration, and DynamoDB and S3 for data storage and static assets. This phase of development included extensive testing to ensure seamless functionality. **Outcome** The redesigned platform was completed and successfully launched in late 2022 following enthusiastic approval from Logos. Continuous quality assurance tests are in place to maintain its strong performance. Protokol remains closely partnered with Logos, not just on the DAO directory but also on additional initiatives like Shield3, indicating a bright future of collaboration and innovation within the Logos ecosystem.

European Commission | EBSI

In 2018, a coalition of 29 countries established the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) to utilize blockchain technology for cross-border public services, with the goal of creating a reliable platform for information verification and data sharing. The first use cases focused on trusted audit trails, digital identities, and adherence to regulations. Protokol joined this initiative, advising on blockchain infrastructure and creating a custom Software Development Kit (SDK) in Typescript for the EBSI network. Protokol created an EBSI-specific SDK to assist organizations in developing applications on the EBSI blockchain, improving interoperability and supporting various applications such as supply chains and digital identities. Protokol also enabled EBSI's integration with the ARK blockchain for notarisation purposes, which involved verifying documents and storing hashes on the blockchain, thus establishing performance standards for the network. In 2022, Protokol was chosen for the EBSI VECTOR project, which aims to create a framework for the verification of educational and professional credentials across the EU, thereby reducing bureaucratic obstacles and enhancing efficiency. This project entails defining verification parameters and creating interoperable EBSI wallets for both enterprises and individual users. For the VECTOR project, Protokol is developing an enterprise wallet that will be crucial for efficiently issuing and verifying credentials across EU member states. They are also designing citizen wallets to house digital credentials, ensuring a user-friendly experience to promote wide adoption. The VECTOR initiative commenced on July 1, 2023, with Protokol playing an active role in its development and execution. The project has set milestones for 2023 and 2024, targeting completion by mid-2025.
