Gallagher Bassett, a global provider of claims services, aimed to unlock their business intelligence capabilities and allow internal users to access data for thousands of claims and insurance policies several times daily. To realize this goal, Prime TSR developed a hybrid cloud analytics platform and an on-premise data warehouse solution, prioritizing security, scalability, and operational readiness. WHAT WE DID: Over six months of development followed by three months of support, we established a cloud presence and developed a hybrid solution that connected Gallagher Bassett’s on-premise data centers with Azure Cloud. Utilizing the Azure Data Warehouse as the primary cloud platform, we built data pipelines through Azure Data Factory. Consequently, users can now request information on thousands of claims and insurance policies at an impressive refresh rate of four times daily, enabling on-demand data access. Without violating service level agreements (SLAs), Gallagher Bassett also experienced significant cost savings. The cloud's flexibility allowed processing power to adjust in real-time based on information demand and data volume. To support Gallagher Bassett’s goal of achieving “better outcomes,” we facilitated the creation of analytical dashboards that enhance decision-making and established a four-hour refresh frequency to improve response times. This process involved defining business intelligence needs, creating an operational readiness plan, designing the data warehouse framework, and launching a self-service BI model. WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED: After completing the fourth phase of our partnership, JourneyCare gained the capability to cross-reference essential patient data, such as referral sources, referrals by diagnosis, and average length of stay, among others. The introduction of new data sources enriched the existing BI dashboards, while the self-service reporting tools enabled users to create reports that revealed new key performance indicators (KPIs). This allowed JourneyCare to enhance its clinical resource allocation for improved patient care, as well as boost revenue cycle operations through greater analytical insights identifying new revenue opportunities.
