How Polytech IT assisted an electrical goods company in introducing automation to their website, despite being told the task was “impossible.” Last year, we were approached by a client looking to modernize their outdated website. They aimed to maintain their existing system while incorporating automation to save time for their administrative team; however, they had repeatedly been informed that this was infeasible. Once we provided a quick and cost-effective solution, the client returned for additional assistance. They sought an automated inventory tracking system to keep customers updated on product availability, a process that had previously been entirely manual. They also required a production system since their production manager had been managing everything. They wanted a more efficient method to determine production priorities as their business expanded, rendering their old custom system inadequate. SOLUTION: Our skilled technicians developed a tailored script that addressed the primary challenges on the client’s e-commerce platform, enabling full automation. This custom solution allowed them to input customer information and needed items, automatically notifying customers of availability. Since the initial project, we have enjoyed collaborating with this client on various endeavors, including a POS system, SEO support, inventory tracking, and other projects. Their satisfaction with the outcomes is evident, and it has been gratifying to work with them towards creating a more efficient workflow for both their team and customers.

Step Forward Support is an organization that offers residential homes and supported living services, providing vulnerable community members with access to CQC Registered Care homes, on-site management assistance, mental health support, and more. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to assist such an impactful organization. They are making a significant difference in the community. We made several visits to their new facility to assess their needs and supplied the ideal solutions to facilitate their relocation. We provided a range of desktops and laptops tailored to their requirements, and the entire building was equipped with CAT6 cabling to ensure high-speed internet connectivity. We also manually transferred their Microsoft 365 to a new account and migrated all their emails, Teams files, OneDrive files, and user profiles. Previously, the customer was paying higher rates for Microsoft 365 through GoDaddy, but we migrated their entire environment to Microsoft directly. This not only resulted in savings but also granted them access to the actual desktop applications, which GoDaddy did not provide. Additionally, we set up an advanced firewall for their business to protect against inbound threats and ensure that outbound traffic is relevant. We also installed and configured all their computer systems for the new office, utilizing Azure AD in conjunction with Microsoft 365 for secure staff logins.
