Poeta employed AWS CloudFormation to set up and manage resources like EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and KMS within a secure virtual private cloud, adhering to security and scalability best practices. Utilizing an Agile software development approach, Poeta initially focused on integrating the ERP functionality. After establishing core features, they identified the minimal viable product (MVP) features, created a product roadmap, and continually enhanced the application through multiple releases based on client and user feedback until a comprehensive application met both business and membership objectives.

At the core of Real Authentication's business model lies their capability to quickly and reliably meet client needs. To enhance this ability, they developed an app for the digital authentication and certification of luxury items. Unfortunately, their application suffered from significant instability, resulting in service disruptions and slow response times, which jeopardized customer trust and satisfaction, and posed a considerable risk to their business. To better manage their workflow, they sought to digitize their data processing to minimize operational costs and enhance the quality of data essential for running their leadership programs. When Real Authentication approached Poeta, they had previously collaborated with two other service providers on their application but had not seen any improvements. Poeta, with its extensive experience in developing over 300 mobile applications worldwide and implementing well-structured infrastructure services to meet software and business traffic objectives, was consulted for an application audit. Poeta's digital strategist, business analyst, technical architect, and design lead collaborated with the AFIT team to identify their needs. We found that the AFIT assessment needed to be quick and user-friendly, allowing teachers to utilize their in-depth knowledge of students without requiring specialized skills or training. Since AFIT Learning is a start-up, Poeta employed a flexible and agile development strategy, prioritizing key functionalities, quickly prototyping an application, and then reviewing and refining that prototype to arrive at an effective set of features tailored to teachers' requirements. After conducting focus groups and testing the functional prototype in actual classrooms, we expanded its features and developed it into a minimal viable product (MVP). AWS offered an ideal setting for this project, enabling us to minimize resource costs during the prototyping phase while maintaining flexibility in the infrastructure tools and resources used. By utilizing CloudFormation templates and deployment automation, we could grow and scale the development, testing, and staging environments to align with application development needs and efficiently support production launches as well as the onboarding of teachers and schools. The AFIT Learning application is hosted in an auto-scaling environment that employs Amazon Compute, data resources, a web application firewall, load balancing, and S3 storage.
