After establishing core features, they identified the minimal viable product (MVP) features, created a product roadmap, and continually enhanced the application through multiple releases based on client and user feedback until a comprehensive application met both business and membership objectives.

Poeta's digital strategist, business analyst, technical architect, and design lead collaborated with the AFIT team to identify their needs. We found that the AFIT assessment needed to be quick and user-friendly, allowing teachers to utilize their in-depth knowledge of students without requiring specialized skills or training. Since AFIT Learning is a start-up, Poeta employed a flexible and agile development strategy, prioritizing key functionalities, quickly prototyping an application, and then reviewing and refining that prototype to arrive at an effective set of features tailored to teachers' requirements. After conducting focus groups and testing the functional prototype in actual classrooms, we expanded its features and developed it into a minimal viable product (MVP). AWS offered an ideal setting for this project, enabling us to minimize resource costs during the prototyping phase while maintaining flexibility in the infrastructure tools and resources used. By utilizing CloudFormation templates and deployment automation, we could grow and scale the development, testing, and staging environments to align with application development needs and efficiently support production launches as well as the onboarding of teachers and schools. The AFIT Learning application is hosted in an auto-scaling environment that employs Amazon Compute, data resources, a web application firewall, load balancing, and S3 storage.
