ABOUT PENTAGRAMA ESTUDIO DE DISEÑO

Design Is Our Thing.

Pentagrama is a versatile design collective that was established in Panama in early 2016. While the foundation of the firm includes five architects, our network also encompasses consultants, contractors, and clients. After collaborating on multiple projects, it was natural for us to create a studio together. We gathered our concepts and a good amount of coffee in a small garage situated in the city center to set up our initial office. Since that time, we have made a name for ourselves as an innovative company with fresh ideas.

Donde Jose

Unknown

Jose Carles's kitchen showcases a blend of creativity rooted in Panamanian heritage. It narrates a tale through its exotic yet familiar flavors, deserving a setting of equal caliber. The restaurant occupies the framework of an old building in the historic area of town. Similar to the narratives behind its dishes, the main dining area is enveloped in a comforting sense of mystery. Soft lighting illuminates the cozy 16-seat space, and the interior, featuring warm materials like wood, reflects the architectural styles of the countryside.

Island Estates (Wind Study)

Unknown

As a design consultancy, we were asked to demonstrate the effectiveness of a naturally ventilated home design in a new development. We provided tools that integrated local climate data with the existing design geometry. Our analysis involved a fundamental climate study and several Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations at various scales: the block, the house, and the room. This approach allowed the initial phases of the study to inform the later ones with validated data, which we refer to as informed design. The final report served as evidence that a well-ventilated, open design would utilize the local climate characteristics to enhance thermal comfort and lower energy costs.

Global Bank Penonome

Unknown

The latest series of Global Bank branch offices features a newly updated interior design. The office in Penonome aims to blend seamlessly with its cultural surroundings. For our design approach, this involved a contemporary take on local materials and themes. Traditional elements such as latticed block facades were incorporated to ensure sufficient natural light while preserving privacy. We designed a latticed pattern for the interior, reflecting the concept of lattice blocks. Furthermore, the combination of the brand colors with light textures creates a sophisticated and understated interior atmosphere.
