Our journey began amid the chaos of a massive Alberta flood, revealing the shortcomings of traditional emergency communications like TV and radio. Recognizing the need for modernization, we partnered with the Alberta Government to launch Canada’s first provincial emergency alerts directly to smartphones. This innovation caught the attention of other provinces, businesses, and schools facing similar challenges. Collaborating with Emergency Managers, we addressed gaps in reaching diverse populations affected by language barriers, connectivity, and accessibility issues. This led to the creation of Alertable, a user-friendly mass notification system uniquely designed for Canada’s diverse needs. Today, Alertable is the only commercial solution endorsed nationwide for official alerts, trusted by governments, businesses, and educational institutions to deliver critical information reliably and cost-effectively.
