Kuru, an online-only footwear retail store established in 2008, transitioned from Magento 1 to a new Magento 2 platform in 2018. We were brought on board to develop version 2 of the iOS app and to integrate it with the Medable platform, which operates in the backend. The challenges we faced were due to the limitations of Apple Research Kit, which we utilized for assessments on iOS. Although helpful, it imposed restrictions on how we could customize functionalities and workflows, leading to discrepancies with the client's requirements. To address this, we conducted a workflow design to clearly outline the application's screens and buttons, including their functionalities. We collaborated closely with the client to ensure alignment, which helped us avoid any potential rework that could have resulted in increased costs and delays. As a result, the project was completed on schedule and within budget, despite the need for compromises on functional requirements during development. We are now in discussions with the University of Michigan regarding future projects aimed at advancing their research initiatives.

The client is an Intelligent Virtual Nurse Assistant designed for large-scale management of population health engagement, leveraging technologies like AI for ongoing healthcare supervision. It actively monitors and interacts with patients dealing with chronic and acute conditions to facilitate disease prevention. The collaboration began at the concept stage, where we worked closely with the client to clarify business requirements, pinpoint the most suitable technology, and customize the solution for various healthcare clients. We developed CareAngel, which uniquely handles population health engagement through AI-driven continuous healthcare management. It was specifically designed to monitor and communicate with all patients facing chronic and acute illnesses to aid in disease prevention. Currently, we are focused on ongoing enhancements to the technology that distinguish CareAngel. To ensure the project's success, we needed to rapidly align with their live site while remaining adaptable to an evolving list of requirements. We implemented an agile methodology with a team of nine, which enabled us to systematically address the requirements and adjust to changes as they arose. As we approached the final stages before launch, we suggested freezing their existing site to facilitate a smooth transition to a new setup. This was organized into a thorough two-week sprint that resulted in a seamless migration. Today, CareAngel is utilized by leading health organizations such as United Health Group (UHG), Elite Health, and AARP, among others. The adoption of CareAngel has led to substantial improvements in patient care, operational efficiency, and cost reductions within these organizations.
