WE SUCCEEDED! A company in the last-mile logistics industry was facing significant issues with high rates of failed deliveries due to inefficient scheduling practices. To address this problem, we introduced a data-driven optimization strategy that integrates artificial intelligence with fleet management optimization. Our solution centered on creating a predictive scheduling model that works in tandem with the delivery scheduler and route planner. Throughout the project, we encountered difficulties, such as maximizing delivery success rates without increasing costs, as well as managing inaccurate forecasts when historical data was available for specific addresses. The machine learning model we developed estimates the likelihood of successful delivery based on various factors, including time, location, address, day of the week, vehicle type, weather conditions, presence of a doorman or receptionist, building characteristics, parking challenges, and real-time traffic information. The predictive scheduling component optimizes both routes and the order of deliveries to ensure that drivers can deliver orders at the most suitable times. A key aspect of our solution was effectively incorporating the model's insights to refine delivery schedules. Our client faced challenges with the efficiency of their repetitive batch production processes, with over 50% of batches deemed wasteful due to declines in final product quality. At nexocode, we developed a model that monitors real-time data from the production process and identifies potential anomalies that can lead to quality issues based on this data. We pinpointed critical areas responsible for process variations and implemented anomaly detection using diverse deep learning techniques (including RNNs, CNNs, and Transformers). CLIENT Fintech Sector OBJECTIVE Creating an AI model to predict loan defaults and enhance bank profitability? Challenge Accepted! WE DID IT! A fintech company aimed to develop an AI model capable of forecasting defaults on bank loans to leverage this data for profit maximization. Previously, there was no effective method for identifying which customers were likely to default without manually reviewing every case file. Given that banks can charge additional interest on late payments, it was essential to optimize credit decisions to boost profitability. To forecast loan defaults, we utilized logistic regression, a parametric machine learning algorithm that estimates the likelihood of falling into one of two classes. The model was trained on historical data from clients who defaulted to identify patterns associated with defaults. The logistic regression results indicated that, in addition to some obvious factors, several less apparent ones, such as demographic information and homeownership status, were also significant predictors of loan defaults. To address the imbalance in the existing dataset, we implemented a sampling method, a statistical inference technique that involves selecting observations from a population to gain insights about the entire group. Another crucial aspect of our solution was ensuring it was interpretable and user-friendly for business stakeholders, enabling them to easily pinpoint which features significantly influence default predictions. The model we developed is straightforward, making it a practical decision-making tool for bank employees.
