Neepa Patel, a former Chief Compliance Officer at a renowned Fin-Tech firm in New York City, had extensive experience with compliance practices in both small and large organizations. She often found the process to be chaotic, relying heavily on disorganized spreadsheets that caused confusion and redundancy. This led her to think, "There must be a better way." Eager to address the issues she encountered, Neepa took the bold step of leaving her job to partner with Modus and pursue her vision. Recognizing the need for a technical collaborator to provide software consulting and help develop an initial prototype for investors, she embarked on this challenging journey. Creating a product that requires in-depth industry insight, like compliance software, is never straightforward. The first step involved a design sprint to explore various development pathways for the prototype efficiently. After determining that a web-based application would enable quicker launch and user feedback, the team got to work. In less than four weeks, they crafted a functional prototype showcasing all the key features. With the prototype ready, Neepa was set to travel to Silicon Valley to present her product to executives from major companies like Coinbase and other significant players in the crypto industry.

Leveraging React Native to Build Trade and Prosper

Unknown

Trade and Prosper is a startup based in New York aimed at supporting local artisanal business owners. They sought to create a mobile app that would facilitate connection, discovery, and collaboration among these small business owners while enhancing their online presence. Modus was brought on to turn this idea into reality. Although we could develop an excellent mobile application to enable communication and collaboration among these artisan entrepreneurs, we wanted to ensure that the app retained its value even with a small number of businesses registered. After many brainstorming sessions filled with ideas, sticky notes, and coffee, we realized that most collaboration among these businesses occurs at events. This insight led us to a clear solution: we would develop two mobile applications—one for the businesses and another for event managers. Event managers can upload their events to our platform, boosting sales and utilizing our management tools, while businesses can gain value from the app by accessing these events and collaborating with one another. We are building two React Native mobile apps from the ground up that work together to foster communication and collaboration in the artisan industry. Each app is customized for its respective user base to ensure a positive experience for both groups. We are currently running a beta test with a select group of users. If you're part of the artisan community and interested in participating in our product testing, please email info@tradeandprosper.com!

Kidfund

Unknown

The CTO of Kidfund was preparing to leave the team, marking a significant transition since he was the sole engineer with a wide range of duties, from overseeing the product roadmap to providing customer support. Kidfund required a versatile team capable of managing multiple roles and still accommodating additional responsibilities. Moreover, this team had to quickly adapt and manage operations efficiently, as they had already reached over 10,000 users. We promptly onboarded and assumed the critical development tasks to maintain operations. After gaining a foundational understanding of the system, we began prioritizing and addressing existing bugs as well as new issues. Alongside our product development efforts, we took over all customer support, resulting in a reduction in average response times.
