When Roderick De Rode initially approached us with his Spinn prototype, he expressed his desire to create one of the largest coffee communities to compete with established brands. We were excited by the challenge. In 2016, Spinn came to our office from their Amsterdam headquarters to meet with our key team members. Shortly after this meeting, we were chosen as their creative agency, entrusted with developing an innovative product launch campaign. At that time, the company was just starting out and had no established brand. As a result, we played a crucial role in shaping the initial content and messaging. The first eight weeks of our collaboration were intense as we aimed for perfection, dedicating countless hours to writing and refining during the creative process. Ultimately, we developed a plan that outperformed most campaigns of that period— a narrative that caught the attention of the press, bloggers, and social media, as well as the target Spinn customers. Our hard work yielded significant results, with Spinn garnering over $10 million in pre-orders. This highly successful campaign generated buzz and attracted the interest of experienced investors and coffee enthusiasts. We continue to collaborate with Spinn on various marketing projects, including video and photo content, as well as performance marketing and media buying on platforms like Google and Facebook.

Glowforge 3d Laser Printer

Glowforge

Dan Shapiro's dream of creating the world's first laser cutter/engraver designed for home use was ambitious, yet we quickly recognized its potential and embarked on an 8-week effort to realize it. We approached the launch of Glowforge with a three-day video shoot and intensive post-production work to meet tight deadlines and enhance outcomes. By analyzing all the key performance indicators, we grasped Glowforge’s primary goal: to make the video as shareable as possible. **Challenges** **Our Approach** Mikhail Agency and Glowforge kicked off the project by outlining over 100 goals for the video campaign. The initial three weeks were dedicated to addressing as many of these objectives as possible through our creative strategy. This effort led to the development of a script and animatics (animated storyboards) for us to review and test prior to production. In post-production, we invested numerous hours in editing and refining the video until it outperformed campaigns that generated over $10 million in revenue. A significant milestone in the company's journey was our triumphant crowdfunding campaign in 2015, where Glowforge raised over $27 million in pre-order revenue, making it one of the most successful campaigns in history. Founded in 2013 and based in Seattle, Washington, Glowforge has continued to grow and innovate following the success of its crowdfunding efforts. Its products have found applications among a diverse array of users, including hobbyists, designers, and small businesses. Today, Mikhail Agency continues to play a crucial role in Glowforge's ongoing growth.
