Remote Connectivity Keeping Healthcare Running
Fraser Health collaborated with Microserve, a Lenovo Platinum Partner and a prominent IT solutions provider for Canada’s public sector, to acquire eight Lenovo ThinkAgile HX3320 appliances powered by Intel® Xeon® Gold processors. The Lenovo ThinkAgile HX platform integrates Lenovo servers, robust Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, and Nutanix Enterprise Cloud software, consolidating computing and storage resources into a single virtualized framework for adaptable resource distribution and smooth scalability. Just as Fraser Health began testing its new Remote Desktop Services (RDS) solution, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, altering their plans significantly. Initially, they had configured the system to accommodate 1,000 remote employees, but with widespread lockdowns across Canada, it became crucial to expand the RDS environment to handle 10,000 users. Thanks to the Lenovo ThinkAgile HX platform supporting its RDS infrastructure, Fraser Health can now serve up to 10,000 remote workers, ensuring the provision of high-quality patient services during this challenging time. Clinicians and administrative teams can now securely and reliably access the necessary applications and data from home through RDS. Meanwhile, for on-site staff, Fraser Health is planning to introduce compact Lenovo ThinkCentre M625 Tiny and ThinkCentre M715 Tiny desktops to replace their outdated workstations.
