Lazada: Connecting the SouthEast region to a new shopping experience
The challenge faced by this client was to promote an entire eCommerce platform rather than just a single product, targeting a diverse audience that included both existing and new customers. This audience consisted of men and women aged 18 and older who were interested in online shopping in Indonesia. Additionally, the task was to achieve a balance between a low cost-per-click (CPC) and a high conversion rate.
The solution provided by MGID was a tailored promotional strategy that addressed the specific needs of Lazada. We segmented the audience into two distinct campaign strategies: one for existing customers and another for new ones, which allowed us to develop targeted approaches for each group. For existing customers, we created two ad campaigns that emphasized key incentives of shopping with Lazada, such as limited-time flash sales and consistently low prices. This approach aimed to leverage the familiarity of existing customers with these benefits to encourage repeat engagement. In contrast, the strategy for new customers was different. Although still targeting a similar demographic, we initiated a campaign directing new users to Lazada's homepage, concentrating on prompting them to sign up and interact with a platform they had not yet used.
In both campaign strategies, we utilized images provided by the client, as agreed with Lazada, and paired these visuals with engaging headlines to stimulate further interaction from users.
Results showed that within a 1.5-month timeframe, the ad campaigns achieved an average CPC of $0.09 and an average purchase amount of $20.
