A critical thinking learning app like no other

### About the Client AugLi is a nascent startup established by graduates from IIT and Stanford, focused on transforming the education of 21st-century skills. ### The Vision The founders envision a future where children become informed and responsible citizens by developing critical thinking and effective expression on important topics. ### The Problem and Opportunity Critical thinking is not incorporated into the curriculum in India, which means our app won't receive the same parental support that platforms like Khan Academy and Byju’s do. Nevertheless, if we can design it to resonate with the deeper aspirations of both kids and parents, the app has the potential to become a habitual part of their lives and bring about significant change. ### Approach & Result Since we are venturing into uncharted territory with the product, we initiated extensive ethnographic research and an analysis of critical thinking pedagogy. By merging insights from these studies, we created a framework that allows us to test our hypotheses and gradually develop a product that engages children and fosters real learning. The app is now available on the Play Store and is actively used by hundreds, with many users spending over thirty minutes per session on it! The Vision: The founders aimed to create an English learning app tailored to meet the needs of the local population. The Opportunity: Although young adults in Kerala study English in school, they struggle with conversation skills when they relocate to Bengaluru for job opportunities. Research revealed that the main issue is a lack of practice partners for conversation. The Solution: We developed an engaging learning experience for Conversational English, allowing users to practice dialogues with a friendly companion.
