Scaling up sales with online content advertising
When MediaGroup began its partnership with Universal Robots, a robotic automation firm, in 2018, their marketing relied heavily on traditional methods. They focused on attending conferences, placing print advertisements in industry magazines, and utilizing a sizable sales team and distributors to drive new business. Recognizing the potential to enhance their customer acquisition through online advertising, the company sought our expertise to create a media strategy aimed at producing high-quality business leads for their global salesforce. After conducting an audit of their previous marketing activities and performance data, MediaGroup determined that although brand awareness was strong (as they are the world leader in their field), their efforts to foster brand preference and convert leads through acquisition advertising were lacking. They initially used whitepapers as content to share thought leadership, effectively reaching a relevant audience and establishing their position as an industry leader while generating thousands of leads through sign-up forms. The campaign launched in April 2018, initially aimed at 18 countries, and was later expanded to over 24 additional regions. To further increase lead volume, the strategy incorporated various platforms, including global ones like Google, Bing, Facebook, LinkedIn, and DV360, as well as local platforms such as Y!Japan, Naver, Baidu, WeChat, and Kakao. In addition to paid media efforts, the strategy emphasized leveraging the client’s website and content to drive organic business through targeted SEO initiatives across different search engines and regions. This SEO work involved on-site optimizations and link building, resulting in a significant boost in organic traffic and an increase in business from inbound inquiries. The campaign has been ongoing for two years now, with high lead volumes (thousands per month), a cost per lead maintained below $25, and a strong lead quality.
