Solatube International New London Case Study
A vital element of our public relations initiatives for B2B clients is the development of comprehensive case studies and their promotion to industry publications. Our daylighting client, Solatube International, seized a significant case study opportunity with the New London Educational Learning Center in New London, Minnesota, designed to assist students facing learning and behavioral challenges. This 25,000-square-foot facility replaces an outdated building in Willmar, Minnesota, which had become financially burdensome to maintain. Completed in June 2024 by BCI Construction, the Educational Learning Center provides specialized educational services for up to 50 students. The project marks a major investment in the local community, offering a safe, modern, and functional space tailored to the students' needs. The design team, led by Hay Dobbs architects and BCI Construction, worked closely with Solatube distributor Daylight Specialists to incorporate 12 Solatube SolaMaster 750 DS-O daylighting systems. Notably, the 750 DS-O is the only rooftop daylighting solution worldwide that meets both ICC 500 and FEMA P-361 standards, making it the best option for storm shelters. We conducted research on the project, obtained high-resolution images, and crafted a professional case study, which we used to pitch to key trade publications. Three outlets published the full case study: Building Enclosure, Commercial Construction & Renovation, and Facilities.net, resulting in over $38,000 in earned media for our client, increased visibility among key decision-makers, and a valuable third-party endorsement from the press.
