OUR STORYMaria-Alejandra Icaza Paredes is a Panamanian architect, designer, and artist based in Miami, whose passion for the built environment and its influence on human behavior drives her innovative work. With a multidisciplinary background spanning architecture, interior, furniture, and product design, she integrates the Vitruvian principles of utility, durability, and beauty in her creations. Educated internationally, including studies in Florence, Panama, and the Savannah College of Art and Design, she has gained diverse experience through internships and sustainable design research. Currently working with Luis Pons Design Lab and founding MAIPdesigns, she crafts interiors and unique art pieces primarily for residential and hospitality sectors. Maria-Alejandra's dedication is reflected in her exhibitions, publications, and numerous accolades, underscoring her commitment to making life better through thoughtful, innovative design.
