Lucent Earth, Inc. was established by its parent company, A. P. Electric, in 1976, which later rebranded to Pratt Electric in 1982. Initially, the company provided electrical contracting services for new builds, fire damage repairs, and redevelopment projects in Salt Lake. In February 2002, the name was changed to Cornerstones Services, and the company's focus evolved into a comprehensive service provider, encompassing electrical work, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, energy management, and security solutions.
