This digital-first initiative illustrates how IBM can assist businesses in maximizing their IT infrastructure's potential, enhancing their resilience during global disruptions, and preparing for future challenges. **Experience Design** The client aimed to create something that stood out distinctly from their other digital initiatives, in terms of aesthetics, feel, and storytelling. The objective was to push the design boundaries while still adhering to IBM’s established design principles. The final product ventures into new design territory while maintaining brand consistency and aligning with the broader array of digital experiences. **Technology** To bring this ambitious design vision to life, we crafted a responsive HTML5 experience hosted on IBM Cloud Foundry with auto-scaling capabilities. The three-dimensional component featuring the gem was built using WebGL and the Three.js framework, while the detailed editorial content and overall user interface were developed with React and styled-components. The website's structure, including all text, images, and various configuration options, is governed by a CMS built on Strapi. **Performance** Most of the 3D visuals were generated programmatically. The gem, central to the narrative and a foundation for three mini-games, utilized a single base 3D model exported as .glb from 3ds Max. All variations in its shape were produced programmatically; we transformed the model into a unified BufferGeometry at runtime, utilizing GLSL shaders to animate its smaller components.

Complete case study: https://lepolishbureau.com/projects/salesforce-dreamforce Background: Our successful collaboration with Salesforce began when our long-standing partner, GPJ, approached us to develop an interactive installation aimed at engaging visitors and gathering data on IT security practices within organizations. Set to debut at the Salesforce Dreamforce '22 event, the project presented a tight schedule and several technological uncertainties. Technology: This initiative provided an excellent platform to demonstrate the capabilities of our latest solution, Event5. The core concept of Event5 is to build event software using web-based technologies, enabling quicker production times while lowering costs. The solution only requires a web browser for hardware compatibility, which minimizes risks related to on-site unknowns. Additionally, updates can be applied in real time since there is no necessity for native apps on event devices. Remote testing and reviews facilitate a more efficient and confident production process between our team and clients, significantly decreasing or even eliminating the need for on-site assistance. Craft: In addition to implementing an innovative workflow, we made it a priority to ensure the questionnaire was engaging. To do so, we designed a creative and animated experience that guided users through a series of simple questions. Live results: Our chosen approach allowed for immediate access to the results and insights from the questionnaire. The custom-designed questionnaire gathered important data on IT security practices from the companies that participated in the Salesforce Dreamforce '22 event. This data was then processed and aggregated, yielding valuable insights into the industry.

Niantic Lightship Summit

For the complete case study, visit https://lepolishbureau.com/projects/niantic-lightship-summit. **Overview** Our team collaborated with Liquid City and Niantic to create a prototype Augmented Reality (AR) experience for Niantic's Lightship Summit conference held in San Francisco. The app aimed to showcase an inspiring vision of a real-world metaverse while offering practical, enjoyable features for attendees. **Large-Scale AR Experience** The venue spanned over 100 meters and comprised several indoor sections along with a substantial terrace, all designed to feature augmented elements. **Technology** We developed the application using Unity and incorporated Niantic's ARDK to provide cutting-edge AR capabilities. Our aim was to ensure a smooth experience for users, allowing them to navigate the entire venue without needing to realign the AR layer. To accomplish this, we captured photogrammetry scans of various Points of Interest (POIs) evenly distributed throughout the area. Utilizing Niantic ARDK's Virtual Positioning System (VPS), the app was able to determine the user’s location within the venue and align the augmented visuals accordingly. Once the initial reference point was set, users could freely explore while the system continuously detected other POIs in the background, automatically realigning the AR layer without user intervention. **Engaging Content** We implemented several optimization strategies to prevent overwhelming the users' devices with extensive content and physical dimensions. This included a tailored occlusion system, intelligent sound batching, and proximity-based interactions. With highly accurate tracking down to the centimeter, we were able to deliver valuable spatial information, such as insights about nearby buildings and the beverages available on catering tables. Considering the dynamic environment of a live event, we also created a content management system (CMS) that allowed our team to adjust the positioning of any 3D objects in real time.
