Security Camera Implementation

A mid-sized manufacturer of confections and nuts identified a pressing need to upgrade its security camera systems at two locations. Cameras were installed in production areas, warehouses, and other relevant spots. KSYS Group evaluated each site to find the best camera placements that would maximize coverage and reduce blind spots. The specific conditions and objectives at each location informed the choice of camera specifications, ensuring durability while avoiding excess costs from underused equipment. In total, 173 cameras were installed across both sites. The system can be accessed remotely by managers via a mobile app, which provides live feeds and recorded footage. To streamline usability and limit unnecessary access, KSYS set up permission groups within the app. Each security station regularly cycles through live feeds, displaying four views on a screen, with the feeds exclusive to that site. Ensuring redundancy and continuity was a key priority for the client, and all recorded footage is stored in the cloud.

Redzone Implementation

A manufacturing firm in Northern Illinois required a workforce solution to enhance collaboration, provide real-time data, offer comprehensive downtime and output reporting, and scale with the company’s growth. KSYS Group conducted network stress tests and heatmapped the wireless connectivity across the manufacturing facility. Based on the findings and anticipated initial hardware, more access points were installed to eliminate coverage gaps and enhance overall signal strength. Additionally, four managed switches were placed in the IDFs of each quadrant. Network configurations and segmentations were introduced to boost performance, security, and scalability. The automation server was built and set up, collaborating with other vendors to ensure compatibility and data sharing. The KSYS team also managed the inventory, configuration, and deployment of 161 iPads, 36 AppleTVs, and 2 MACminis. This involved the setup and implementation of the Apple Mosyle Server for managing user permissions, updates, and user experience. Printers were configured and installed throughout the facility specifically for printing directly from the Redzone iPads. Ongoing network load tests were conducted as the equipment was rolled out to confirm availability and stability in real time. During the go-live phase, the KSYS team was present to handle any questions or potential issues. Additionally, the manufacturing company requested that the TVs be capable of streaming video and audio for company-wide announcements. Testing was carried out during all three shifts to verify that the sound could be heard over the machinery before selecting the speakers. Each TV was equipped with two speakers, and video was streamed through the AppleTVs. Client Outcome: Redzone annually recognizes top-performing companies within their network of over 800 food manufacturers globally, and the client has been nominated for two awards.
