Immersive Safety Training
**Client Overview**
Kellogg’s, a prominent leader in the global FMCG sector, is widely recognized for its dedication to quality and innovation. With substantial manufacturing facilities operating around the globe, Kellogg’s encountered a significant challenge: how to effectively train machine operators without hindering production schedules. Conventional training practices were labor-intensive, costly, and often unengaging. While operators required practical experience, in-person training resulted in downtime, safety concerns, and logistical challenges. Therefore, Kellogg’s aimed for a solution that was quick, scalable, and immersive, without sacrificing quality.
**Our Mission**
Eka.Design collaborated with Kellogg’s to revolutionize operator training using Virtual Reality (VR). The goal was straightforward yet ambitious.
**Our Approach**
Design served as the foundation for this transformation. We initiated the process with thorough research, examining Kellogg’s workflows, safety measures, and operator challenges. These insights guided every design choice. Utilizing Unity, we created highly realistic 3D environments that replicated Kellogg’s production floor, capturing authentic details like machine textures and spatial configurations. To ensure intuitive use, we developed ergonomic VR interactions, clear navigation, and contextual prompts for a smooth user experience. We also conducted two iterative visits with the client—one at the project kickoff and the other prior to delivery—to refine our solution based on practical feedback.
**Business Impact**
The outcome? A forward-thinking training ecosystem that minimizes downtime, cuts costs, and boosts workforce confidence. Kellogg’s can now train operators more efficiently, safely, and intelligently, with a replicable model applicable across its global facilities. This represents more than just a successful design; it signifies a substantial business transformation, future-proofing Kellogg’s training strategy.
