Yale social media
Transforming Beyond the Ordinary
After years of effectively managing Yale Materials Handling's social media platforms, we recognized it was time to refresh our strategy. While the previous program met the brand’s marketing objectives, promoted launches, and engaged Yale’s dealer network, we believed we could elevate it from ‘good’ to ‘great’ by implementing some key strategic changes: creating a clearer brand voice, tailoring content for different platforms, and enhancing interactivity with our audience.
Enhancing Our Social Media Presence
We evaluated performance metrics for our @YaleAmericas Twitter and LinkedIn accounts, observed competitors' actions, integrated current social trends, and drew inspiration from other successful B2B accounts. This led us to develop a new, platform-specific social media strategy. We designated LinkedIn for “nutritional” content—meaning in-depth, thought-provoking, and educational discussions—while Twitter would feature “candy” content—such as GIFs and custom memes, combining information with a sense of fun. Our new Facebook page would serve as a middle ground between the two styles.
On the existing platforms, we reduced posting frequency by about one-third and applied this lower volume goal to our new Facebook strategy, emphasizing the quality over quantity of individual posts. We focused on audience engagement by intentionally involving media partners, dealers, employees, and other brands. Additionally, we implemented a social listening program to enable quick, personalized responses to replies, posts, and comments, adding a personal touch to our social media interactions.
