I have dedicated over 20 years to learning and practicing human resources. Throughout my journey, I have consistently been drawn to opportunities where I could collaborate directly with entrepreneurs to support their business growth through effective talent management. Often, these companies lacked an HR department or had smaller teams that were not adequately trained for their roles. Although it took me a while to realize, I ultimately understood that my repeated interest in these situations stemmed from my passion for building things from the ground up and embracing challenges. This realization led to the establishment of Kitson Human Capital Solutions. Here are some key highlights about my background: - I have managed teams of over 20 as a CHRO and have also worked as the sole HR professional in a company. - For most of my career, I have reported directly to owners, founders, presidents, or CEOs. - I have a strong background in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) spanning nearly a decade, having been on the acquired side in a $2 billion deal and leading complex integration processes for a combined business valued at $10 billion, which involved managing multiple acquisitions. - I have worked with three different private equity groups at both the holding company and portfolio company levels, ranging from smaller firms targeting deals under $10 million to large investment firms with over $60 billion in assets. - I graduated at the top of my class from what I consider the premier HR Graduate program in the United States, located at the University of Illinois. - My business experience spans across many states, including extensive work in California. - I possess expertise in both international and unionized as well as non-unionized environments in privately and publicly held companies, covering field, corporate, and multi-unit roles with team sizes from 100 to 75,000 members.
