OUR STORY
Founded in 2012 as part of the World Bank's infoDev initiative, the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) serves as a pioneering hub dedicated to advancing sustainable development through climate-focused technology and entrepreneurship. Initially supported by UKaid, DANIDA, and led by a consortium including GVEP International, PwC, Strathmore University, and KIRDI, KCIC was the first of its kind in a global network aimed at scaling locally relevant climate technologies. Transitioning to an independent company in 2015, KCIC continues to drive climate entrepreneurship with fresh funding from DANIDA. Guided by values such as inclusivity, integrity, and collaboration, KCIC envisions building sustainable enterprises and fostering climate-resilient communities across Kenya.
