Founded in Tallahassee, Florida, Level Up Digital Media is a distinguished media company renowned for its expertise in videography and documentaries. Since its launch in 2023, the company transitioned from a basic Squarespace site to a custom-designed WordPress platform, crafted with the Gutenberg editor and ACF blocks, enhancing speed, ease of maintenance, and visitor engagement. This upgrade coincided with the release of their latest oyster-themed documentary, reflecting their commitment to quality storytelling. Level Up Digital Media proudly holds 10 Emmy Awards, underscoring their excellence in the field. Praised by owner Josh McLawhorn for its talented and attentive web developer, the company now boasts a website that truly mirrors its professional stature and creative achievements.

Identity Champion by AAA

The AAA Identity Champion team recently revamped their product offerings and required a blog to support their content marketing initiatives. I created their blog using WordPress to align with the current branding of their app and other products. The blog is now fully responsive for mobile and various devices, built on a custom WordPress theme that allows a team of writers and bloggers to easily manage all aspects of their content, including categories and posts, through an intuitive WordPress backend. A key focus was on ensuring excellent Google rankings, making effective SEO a top priority. From a development perspective, the site achieved scores of 95 on mobile and 99 on desktop in the Google Page Speed test. Additionally, we needed a strategy to direct users back to the app for signing up for the monthly AAA membership. I set up custom fields within each blog post to allow the team to create targeted advertisements offering discounts and promotions. Lastly, due to their ongoing evolution and feature updates, I have been assigned the responsibility of continuously updating and maintaining the site to ensure it remains fast and secure for the foreseeable future.

ToutApp

ToutApp is a tool for automating email marketing. It was acquired by Marketo and later by Adobe. They brought me on board to revamp their website using the existing WordPress framework. The entire marketing team was already skilled in uploading and editing content, and they had a well-established content marketing process that needed to be preserved. The website went through several redesigns before we settled on the current version. Their design team collaborated closely with me to make sure every aspect of the user experience encouraged visitors to make purchases. We worked on setting up blogs and other content marketing strategies to enhance visibility across different Google searches. I developed a custom WordPress theme built on a framework to ensure it was responsive, user-friendly, and fast.

Stamen

Stamen had created a makeshift custom WordPress theme with developers who lacked expertise in WordPress. It was cumbersome, disorganized, and somewhat slow, but it served its purpose. They soon realized that whenever they wanted to add a new feature, make an API call, or adjust formatting, they had to search for a different person to work on the site, making it increasingly complex each time. Ultimately, they brought me on board to streamline the code base, implement new features in a more WordPress-compatible manner, and eliminate the various plugins they had relied on for many of their functions.
